Parentapps update: what we did in 2020

2020, wow, what a year. It’s safe to say we’re all glad to see the back of that. Although there’s still uncertainty for the next few months at least, I think we can all look forward to a better, healthier 2021.

So what did we get up to in 2020?

Our Homework Hub launched earlier than planned

Our aim at Parentapps is to increase parental engagement through digital communication, and communication became even more critical as the pandemic started unfolding. Early on in the first lockdown, we put the feelers out to our customers and realised they’d benefit from an early launch of our Homework Hub.

The Homework Hub aims to support home learning throughout the pandemic; teachers can upload homework tasks through the portal, and parents can access and download each task then re-upload once it has been completed.

Our support service became cloud-based

Support is an integral part of our service offering, so we upgraded our phone system to operate remotely. This means our support teams could work from home and continue to deliver excellent customer service when our schools needed it the most.

We launched a new Parents’ Evening and Events Booking System

Booking parents’ evening slots manually causes many issues, including miscommunication between teachers and parents, paper appointment slips going missing and more.

Instead, booking slots for parents’ evening and other school events is quick and simple with Parentapps. It’s not just a system built to make life a little bit easier for teachers, but parents can access their parents’ evening appointments at any time through the app. When all parents are booked in, simply export the booking list.

The events booking system helps streamline school business management tasks. Say goodbye to manual calendar event management, and hello to a more sophisticated digital dashboard.

We started hosting site and app training webinars

We want your school to get the most of out its app, and that’s precisely why we’ve started hosting webinars. Our apps have tons of features you might not realise exist, or maybe there’s a better, more efficient way to process something – we’re here to help you utilise the entire app to improve parental communication.

A new system for bugs and app issues

Our development team is always looking for new ways to make our service even better. So we’ve now built a brand new system to fully track all tickets, grouping similar issues together to help us identify bugs and fix issues a lot quicker.

Each customer receives a dedicated account manager

We’ve allocated each customer an account manager. This is to ensure each client is making the most of their app and website. Your account manager can help you fix any issues with data, give you a helping hand to get parents on board, and sharing tips to help improve your parental engagement and save time.

Anything else?

Yes! We want to help you improve your school’s communication through the pandemic, so we’ve just made our Lite version of the app completely FREE for new customers.
